A few good creative men… a funny film spoof

Here is a very funny video a friend who works for a media agency sent me. It takes the dramatic court scene from the movie A Few Good Men; starring Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise and Demi Moore; and dubs it over with comedic effect. Instead of talking about the military protection of the USA and what it takes to lead men in that job, we have a guy talking as if he runs an ad agency.

I hope you enjoyed this funny viral video, I am sure if you work in the ad business it rang a little true too.

College Humor is one of my favourite humor websites, and a great source for funny videos. Today I am sharing their funny sketch about grammar nazis, you know those people who annoyingly correct every sentence you utter. Well, they have taken the nickname and coupled it with that great first scene from Inglorious Basterds, where Christopher Walz‘s SS officer Hans Landa interrogates the French farmer, and made a spoof that’ll make you laugh. In this funny video we see the grammar nazi picking holes in everything the poor farmer says until the location of the hidden Jew is discovered.

Pac-Man the movie… is this for real?

Pac-Man is probably the most recognisable and popular video game character ever. With his first incarnation in 1980, Pac-Man has gone on to become a huge brand and an instantly recognisable character to millions of people. Well, somebody has decided that with film versions of Prince of Persia, Hitman, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Silent Hill and a host of other video games that it is time for Pac-Man to get the movie treatment. MADtv was a comedy sketch show running for 14 years consisting of comedy parodies of popular television shows, movies and music, as well as topical, political, and pop culture humor. You may have seen the MADtv Batman sketch I posted before, but this will be my first post dedicated entirely to a MADtv skit. See their parody of Lord of the Rings, entitled the Lords of the Bling! Enjoy this comedy sketch.

PG Porn is movie director and actor James Gunn‘s project featuring some of hollywood’s biggest talent, it’s all about the unexpected. It may have the P word in its title, but it’s not porn. Everything from porn is there, from the awkward camera angles, horrible acting, subdued production values, and stereotypical setups, but not the sex. Here see Nathan Fillion (from Serenity and Firfly) and Aria Giovanni (a porn star) in Nailing Your Wife, a story of adultery and murder!

Dangerous wands, a story of wizards and witches from the wrong side of town

This is the second post I have made that includes some parody of the Michelle Pfeiffer film “Dangerous Minds“. First, Weird AL Jankovic parodied the hit song Gangsta’s Paradise from the film and now the guys from College Humor have mixed Dangerous Minds with Harry Potter to give us “Dangerous Wands“, a movie about wizards and witches from the wrong side of town. This is a brilliant parody and just shows how differently people can skewer the same material.

The development of Batman, or Batman for the new millennium?

In the late Sixties there was a very camp Batman series on TV that was a whole new perspective on the original comic book character. He was no longer the pulp/noir hero of the 30s and 40s. My first Batman experiences were from this TV series and I remember enjoying the show, so you can understand my shock when I saw a clip on youtube that seemed more like a comedy than the Batman character Tim Burton and Christopher Nolan have given us more recently. The clips below show a scene from the old TV series, then a triler for the most recent Batman movie, the Dark Knight, and finally a MadTV clip showing a cost cutting Batman who car pools and has replaced Robin with a Mexican gardener. I hope you enjoy the clips and the contrast between Batman realisations.

The Rachel Bilson sex scene from ‘Hearts of Palm’

You may recognise Rachel Bilson from the TV show The OC or from movies like Jumper. Well it looks like she is going for a more mature audience with her new film, ‘Heart of Palm‘. In this cheeky video clip you will see Rachel Bilson telling the director she is not comfortable doing a love scene nude, so they bring in a body double, promising to cut the scene tastefully. See what you think of the results, but I for one laughed out loud when I saw this video parody.

Harry Potter has been a huge commercial success as a set of books that got children reading again and then as the big budget movies that then stopped them continuing with this antiquated method of absorbing a story. Well, the success has led to a few jokes, like: I recently saw/read Harry Potter but thought it was rather unbelievable. I mean who has ever heard of a ginger kid with two friends?

Well here the SNL team have used their skill and humour to focus on the physical developments of Hermione Granger. This funny video clip got me chuckling and I see the films have become more comedic and centred on the growing pains of these kids too… Enjoy this Saturday Night Live skit which features Jimmy Fallon and Lindsay Lohan.

Facebook Off… the new John Woo comedy inspired by a true story?

The guys at CollegeHumor.com do some very funny stuff and this funny video is no exception. It is a trailer for a parody of the John Woo film Face Off which starred John Travolta and Nicholas Cage, the name of this film is Facebook Off. In it two guys use Facebook to undermine the other in the eyes of a girl. If you remember the original film you will see how clever and humorous they are in sending up both Facebook and the movie.
