This is a hilarious picture a friend sent to me by email. It shows World War 2 if it were displayed on Facebook. This social media spoof will have you laughing out loud as you follow Germany, UK, USA, Japan, Italy and all the countries ‘liking’ each other, commenting, sending invitations and all the Facebook activities as you see relationships develop and fall apart update by Facebook update. It is like watching a news parody of a previous age in a modern way and throws up funny social media parodies.

It seems toy manufacturers are giving children the idea that huge heads are cool… when they are actually just not feasible in the real world. In this parody news report the Onion News Network send a reporter to find out the facts about the disproportionately large headed Bratz Dolls. The Onion news has already supplied several hilarious parody news reports and this one is another funny video clip. So check out this funny news report and see what all the fuss is about.

Newswipe is a British news parody program broadcast on BBC Four written and presented by Charlie Brooker. This comedy show takes a swipe at news media and is well worth a look if you like that kind of media parody. The video below is a funny clip that shows how news networks create news reports, with the editing, opinions and graphics being ridiculed.

This parody video had me in stitches and I hope to check out all the Newswipe episodes soon, so keep an eye out for more funny clips from the show.

1. Labour’s election strategy: bring on no-nonsense hard man Gordon Brown.

“In an audacious new election strategy, Labour is set to embrace Gordon Brown’s reputation for anger and physical aggression, presenting the prime minister as a hard man, unafraid of confrontation, who is willing to take on David Cameron in “a bare-knuckle fistfight for the future of Britain”, the Guardian has learned.” The site then publishes a slideshow of campaign posters, including one featuring the PM alongside the slogan: “Step outside posh boy,” and the strap-line “Vote Labour. Or Else.”

2. Ferrets key to bridging the digital divide between cities and rural areas.

“Specially trained ferrets are being used to deliver broadband to rural areas following groundbreaking techniques used by an Internet provider. The animals have been used by Virgin Media for over a year to help lay cables for its broadband service, the company has disclosed. The ferrets wear jackets fitted with a microchip which is able to analyse any breaks or damage in the underground network.”

4. Hadron Collider II planned for Circle Line.

“London Underground is in talks with the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (Cern) about the possibility of using the 23km tunnel of the Circle Line to house a new type of particle accelerator similar to the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva. Particle physicists believe the existing tunnel can be adapted to take a small-scale “atom smasher” alongside the passenger line at a fraction of the cost of building a new tunnel elsewhere in Europe.”

“Woolworths.co.uk have launched the world’s first ever calorie negative sweet – the Diet Cola Bottle. The sweet, part of its Pick ‘n’ Mix range, burns more calories when eating and digesting than the sweet actually contains. Matthew Jacques, Head of brand at Woolworths.co.uk, says “The Diet Cola Bottle looks almost identical and tastes equally as good as the original cola bottle, but without the calories.”

Outsourcing makes sense – Watch this report to understand

The Onion, or the Onion News Network, is a parody news channel that I posted about before, when I ran the Trekkies bash the new Star Trek film video clip. It is currently one of the highest rated posts I have made and with good reason, it made me laugh out loud (lol) and hopefully you liked it too. Well here is another one of their hilarious news clips, this time a report on the cost efficiency of outsourcing, leading to American office workers outsourcing their own jobs so that they can concentrate on their pastimes. Obviously rooted in some truth this story has taken the current trend for outsourcing to its logical conclusion leading to a funny video clip that I enjoyed and I hope you will too.

The Onion, America’s finest news source, is a website that provides lots of news parody videos, like the one below. Sometimes these guys really hit the nail on the head as with this amusing video. It is a news report parody reviewing the new Star Trek movie, starring Chris Pine in the role of James T. Kirk, instead of William Shatner. The report pokes fun at ‘Trekkies’, the fans of the Star Trek TV series and movies, and the previous Star Trek shows and films so have a look and see what you think. My favourite quote has to be “If I wanted to see young, attractive people doing exciting things I’d just go watch sports.”

The comedy team Derrick Comedy created this news investigation parody, delving into the dark side of campus antics where Bro Rape is rife! This funny video shows us what boys are getting up to on campus with their baseball caps, popped collars and gamecubes…. they are seducing each other with the aid of alcohol and music by the likes of Dave Matthews.
